How to Feel Natural and Comfortable in Front of the Camera

For the couples who swear they’re “awkward” — this one’s for you.

Most people think they need to know how to pose, how to smile, how to “look good” in front of a camera.
But the truth is… you don’t.

You don’t need to perform.
You don’t need to act.
You just need to be you.

My job is to take care of the rest.

Here’s how we keep things natural, effortless, and genuinely you.

1. Forget the idea of “posing” we just move

The best photos don’t come from stiff poses or forced smiles.
They come from movement walking, brushing hair away, leaning in, touching hands, whispering something silly.

Small things. Real things.

When you’re moving, you stop thinking about the camera…
and that’s when the magic happens.

2. Think of it as hanging out, not a photoshoot

When you show up to a session with me, you’re not “performing.”
We’re just spending time together:

• walking through a field
• standing by the ocean
• sitting in soft light
• talking about how you two met

The camera becomes background noise, not the focus.

3. Connection matters more than perfection

You don’t need to look a certain way.
You just need to look at each other.

The moment you focus on them, the person who makes you laugh, relax, or breathe a little deeper everything shifts.
Your posture softens, your face relaxes, your real self shows up.

That’s what I’m here to capture.

4. I'll guide you gently the whole way

You won’t be left wondering where to put your hands or what to do next.

I give small, simple directions that feel natural:

• “Walk toward me, slowly.”
• “Hold them like you always do.”
• “Pull them a little closer.”
• “Whisper something only they would understand.”

You don’t need to think.
You just need to feel.

5. Trust is everything

If you trust me, you can let go.
And the moment you let go, you start to look exactly how you feel — natural, soft, human, honest.

That’s all we need.

6. You don’t need confidence you just need comfort

You don’t have to be outgoing to photograph beautifully.
You don’t even need to like having your picture taken.

You just need to feel safe, seen, and comfortable.
That’s my job to create a space where your shoulders drop, your connection shows, and you forget about the camera completely.

The real secret?

You’re not actually “awkward.”
You’re just not used to being photographed in a way that feels true to you.

When you’re relaxed, supported, and connected to the person you love…
your natural self comes out without even trying.

That’s the version of you I capture.
The one that feels like home.
